The Provis AX-70Developed in 1998 by the Olympus Optical company, this microscope is on the cutting-edge of both design and technology. By reviewing and analyzing the basic requirements of research, Olympus was able to develop the ultimate metallurgical microscope, using fewer manual settings and creating an extremely versatile instrument. The Provis AX-70 offers such features as the infinity-corrected optical system (UIS), a high-performance aperture stop unit, and apochromatic objectives that have higher numercial apertures. This microscope also includes a multi-control box for use in observation and photomicrography, data memory cards for storage of observation data, 3-way camera light path and data imprinting capability. There are also a wide variety of accessories that can be used to upgrade the AX-70, ranging anywhere from a printer interface to a super widefield trinocular tube.
