Interactive Tutorials

Photomask Reticle Operation

Practice adjustment of the photomask reticle mounted in a focusing eyepiece using this interactive tutorial. Instructions for operation of the tutorial appear below the applet window.

The tutorial will initialize with both the image and the reticle out of focus. First, use the Specimen Focus slider to move the specimen into focus, then use the Reticle Focus slider to focus the photomask reticle. The illumination can be controlled by the Lamp Intensity slider. Utilize this slider to darken or lighten the specimen in order to make the photomask reticle more visible. Alternatively, use the Reticle Color radio buttons to toggle between red, yellow, and black reticle colors to find a color that will provide sufficient contrast against the selected specimen. A pull-down menu will allow selection from a list of specimens.
