Interactive Java Tutorials

Color Temperature Conversion Filter Calculator

Use this interactive Java tutorial to determine the correct color conversion filter for balancing the color temperature of a microscope light source. Instructions for operation of the tutorial appear below the applet window

In order to determine the proper filter to place into the microscope light path, select the target color temperature from the To Obtain: pull down menu. Next, select the appropriate starting color temperature in the Starting From: pull down menu. The range for both menus is 5500 K to 2900 K. After selecting both color temperatures, the correct color conversion filter, or filter combination, is presented below the menu bars.
