Acanthocystis Video No. 1

28k Stream

Acanthocystis belongs to the class Heliozoa , or "sun animalcules." Some species in this genus are called "green sun animalcules" because their bodies are colored by harmless symbiotic green algae (zoochlorellae). Heliozoans feed in the same way as amoebas, by engulfing their prey.
