The Naididae family of aquatic worms is an ecologically diverse group, common in both running and standing waters. This is one of the largest families of freshwater worms, they are small rarely exceeding 1 inch (25mm) with some as little as 1/8th inch (3mm) long. Many naidids live in the sediment, but other species live among aquatic plants.
