Folic Acid (a water-soluble B vitamin) is abundant in green leafy vegetables and liver and has been demonstrated to protect against cervical dysplasia--precancerous changes in cells of the uterine cervix. This vitamin may protect against heart disease, nerve damage, and neural-tube defects.
