Movie GalleryWelcome to the Molecular Expressions Movie Gallery, containing animated videos of selected samples from our various photomicrograph collections. These videos explore the effect of rotating polarization, sample rotation, and crystallization as if actually appears under the microscope. It is very easy to view examples from any of our collections. Simply click on the links below to visit the gallery of interest. QX3 Microscope Time-Lapse Movie Gallery - Visit our gallery of time-lapse movies captured with the QX3 microscope. Many of the movies were made with a modified version of the microscope adapted for polarized light with a full-wave retardation plate in the optical pathway. Beer -- We rotate the polarizers on this collection to examine the unique color spectrums available from some of your favorite brews. Cocktails -- Don't like beer? Explore some exciting new angles from our Cocktails collection. Liquid Crystalline DNA -- This gallery examines some of the novel and unique features displayed by DNA as it undergoes various liquid crystalline motifs. Organic Liquid Crystals -- Liquid crystals are now a part of everyday life, appearing in computer displays, clocks, watches, thermometers, and a whole host of other applications. Check out the unusual patterns in manipulated liquid crystalline samples. Miscellaneous -- This gallery contains some of our difficult-to-categorize samples, but some that you might find interesting. Moon Rocks -- Although they strongly resemble rocks found here on Earth, the Moon rocks are splashed with color as they are rotated with a retardation plate in the light path. Pharmaceuticals -- Some unusual videos from one of our largest collections. These samples include some of the most important drugs in use today. Vitamins -- Spectular shots from some of our most colorful samples. Our vitamin collection is one of the oldest and most complete collections in the Molecular Expressions library.
