QX3 Time-Lapse Movie GalleryAcetylcholine Chloride
Acetylcholine is a neurotransmitter that is responsible for gated binding control of cation channels to allow inflow of sodium into muscle cells. When recrystallized from the melt, the biochemical will slowly recrystallize, forming dendritic needle-like crystals. The time-lapse movie was made using a modified version of the Intel Play QX3 microscope equipped for polarized light illumination with a full-wave (first order) retardation plate.
