Apollo 15 astronauts Jim Irwin and David Scott landed in the Hadley Rille on the lunar surface in the Lunar Lander 'Falcon'. This was the first mission to deploy the Lunar Rover, an electrically-powered jeep that allowed astronauts to explore a larger portion of the landing site and collect 173 pounds of Moon rocks and soil samples. |
