Staropramen

Staropramen beer is produced in Prague, a town famous for its stunning architecture, beautiful handmade glass, and tasty brew. The Smichov brewery, which is responsible for brewing Staropramen, was founded in 1869, but the beer heritage of the Czech Republic stretches all the way back to the tenth century. Unlike many other Czech brewers, Staropramen, which became the region’s largest brewer by 1932, has not made many changes to its brewing techniques over the years, instead preferring to continue traditional methods that yield a distinctive, malty brew with a floral aroma. These techniques involve a two-phase fermentation process, in which the developing brew is first fermented in open vessels and then again in closed cellar tanks.
