Musical Windmills

Musical Windmills

We captured a snapshot of this 70-micron high windmill on a Music Semiconductors MU9C4480A 256Kb high-speed 64-bit local area network content-addressable memory chip. The integrated circuit is designed for high-performance backbone switches and routers and remote access servers. It features real-time encryption/decryption and compression/decompression engines and operates at 3.3 volts. Photomicrographs were recorded with a Nikon E-600 upright reflected light microscope featuring infinity-corrected optics and differential interference contrast with a full-wave retardation plate. This chip also has a miniature copy of the Musical Semiconductors logo.
