R4400 California License Plate

R4400 California License Plate

This California license plate was found on the MIPS R4400 microprocessor that powered many of the Indy and Challenge Silicon Graphics workstations and servers that formed Silicon Graphics' "WEBForce" in the mid-1990s when the Web was in its infancy. There is also a nice reference to "The State of the Art", which referred to the technology used in the design of this microprocessor when it was first placed into service.
