Creating A Silicon Seascape

This interactive Java tutorial explores the steps necessary to construct a miniature rendition of a natural seascape on the surface of a silicon wafer.

The seascape is simultaneously fabricated on the wafer along with the transistors and interconnects comprising the integrated circuitry of the chips on the wafer. To operate the tutorial, use the forward and back buttons to flip through the various stages in the fabrication process. Each stage in the process is accompanied by text describing what is happening during that step.
