Did you know that semiconductor engineers sometimes put microscopic images on microprocessor chips? Yes, we know, it takes all kinds, but Mac OS Rumors has pointed us toward a great example of the genre -- on a PowerPC 750 (G3) chip! The Silicon Zoo is a site hosted by Florida State University that specializes in finding these hidden images, and they've just found a medieval sword " near the scribe line on a Motorola/IBM PowerPC 750." These G3 chips were code-named "Arthur," as you may recall. . . so we wonder what happens if you're able to pull the sword from the chip -- become CEO of IBM and Motorola? Or king of Austin? of San Jose?? You'll love the picture. | News | Software | Contact / Info | Reader Forum | News Direct | Shop Applelinks | Copyright ©1997-99 CFC Productions. All Rights Reserved |
