Haloperidol (Haldol)

Haloperidol is a tranquilizer and antipsychotic used to treat nervous, mental, and emotional conditions. The drug is useful in treatment of tics and vocal utterances of patients who have Tourette's Disorder. It can also be used to treat children who are combative, possess explosive hyperexcitability, and hyperactive children who show excessive motor activity. Side effects include convulsions, fast heartbeat, fever, and high or low blood pressure.
